Mediation

Mediation is an option for divorce that allows the parties to maintain control of how their divorce process is determined rather than the court system or a judge. You and your spouse determine together on a mediator to meet with civilly, and have meetings together to negotiate decisions with the ability to come to an agreeable solution to resolving separation of property, children, any other divorce related issues, in a mutual satisfied outcome.

The mediator does not advocate for one side. A licensed mediator is meant to be a natural attorney to help both parties facilitate communication during the divorce process and prioritize the specific needs for each party after dissolution of marriage without involving the court system. Mediators shall remain impartial. With this being said, each party can engage in individual legal counsel before finalization of the mediation.
