LGBT Divorce: Are There Divorce
Options to Choose From?

Divorce offers different options that traditional and same-sex couples can choose from. Hiring a divorce attorney with an experience in LGBT divorce will give you a better advantage in securing a decree in court. Since facts and circumstances surrounding divorce differ in each case, the parties can either choose contested divorce or uncontested divorce. In the former option, the initiating spouse must establish his or her allegation regarding the fault of the other spouse.

The latter type of divorce contemplates a situation where both parties are not at fault, but rather, they mutually agree to dissolve their marriage. This is easy to process, and it requires no hearing. Lastly, there is also collaborative divorce wherein the parties can easily negotiate an agreement about property division, child support and custody.
