If you have finally decided to resort to divorce mediation, then what the mediator usually does first is to know the basic information, and it is the chance for the parties to make statements. The following are what happens next to the divorce mediation process:

• Asking questions to clear out some facts for the parties;
• Knowing where the parties disagree;
• Assessing the merits of each parties’ claims;
• Addressing the pressing issues that each party might have such as violent attacks from the other party;
